Lot Essay

The building on the left appears to be the corner of St. James's Palace. This image was engraved by Thomas Medland after John Webber, R.A., and published by Medland from Grays Walk, Lambeth.
Webber accompanied Captain Cook on his third voyage, illustrating the account of the expedition. He made tours of Great Britian, Italy, and Switzerland.
