Lot Essay

John Rennie's New London Bridge is shown from the west. There is no sign of Old London Bridge which was finally demolished in 1832 after the opening of the new brige by King William IV in August 1831. Recognisable buildings from left to right include: the Monument, St. Margaret's Pattens, St. Magnus the Martyr, St. Dunstan's in the East, the Tower of London, the Tooley Street Shot Tower, St. Olave Tooley Street and St. Saviour's Church.
