A Japanese silver stem bowl
with lobed quatrefoil body, short neck, knopped stem and domed base with shaped bracket feet, decorated in applied silver and coloured enamels with a silver pheasant standing beneath butterflies in flight amongst blossoming branches -- 7in. (19cm) high, 19th Century, incised signature, engraved 1889-1914, (minor dents).
