A Georgian Officer's Sword
Generally of Infantry officer's 1803 pattern, with 30in. curved fullered blade, originally blued and gilt, with engraved decoration (retaining much original gilding) including GR cypher, Trophy of Arms, a Grenade, Royal Arms, a Grenadier officer and inscription Thos Gill's warranted; gilt-brass guard, the knucklebow incorporating a Grenade, ridged ivory grip and lion's head pommel, in a black leather scabbard with infantry-style gilt-brass mounts (locket lacking its suspension ring, middle-band suspension ring refixed).
