On Colt's letterhead, typed letter written to a Mr. Harold L. Stude of 8 Rock Street, Alexandia Bay, New York, in which J. Henry FitzGerald writes concerning Stude's difficulty with a Colt Match Target Woodsman pistol. Mention is made of Government .22/.45 conversion kits and .45 match barrels and fitting bushings to them. Signed J.H. Fitzgerald. John Henry FitzGerald, noted authority on double action revolver shooting, author of Shooting, worked for Colt's 1918-1944. During his tenure the "Fitz-Gerald Special" known also as the "Fitz-Colt" was developed.
