Cast in white on a dark purple ground, depicting Dionysos and Ariadne, the god nude, reclining on his mantle which drapes beneath him and over his right leg, grasping Ariadne's right arm, who approaches from the left, her left arm above the god's head, holding the edge of his mantle, wearing a sakkos and a mantle draped around her legs, a standing Bachante looking on from the right, a groundline below, a tree between them
