A ROMAN GLASS CAMEO IN A GILT BRONZE SETTING

The cameo cast in amber and white on a dark blue ground, depicting Athena driving a biga to the left, with both horses rearing, only the lower portion of the goddess and her shield preserved, the nearer horse and Athena's shield in the amber layer, the oval box-shaped gilt bronze setting originally with loops at either end
1.5/8 in. (4.1 cm) wide, excluding the loops
