A Shibayama-style gold lacquer hexagonal vase
inlaid with shaped cartouches depicting hanging baskets and vessels containing flowers interspersed with birds among flowering branches, on a kimpun ground, below with enamel and shakudo applied bands, the neck and foot with ho-o roundels and scattered maple -- 11.in (29.2cm) high, signed, 19th Century, (small pieces restuck, small repairs, old wear).
