A Shibayama-style lacquered wood model of a standing caparisoned elephant
with inset ivory floral stand on its back, the saddle cloth inset in sprinkled aogai and decorated with coiled dragons, flowers and chidori below a band of petals, the trappings inlaid in mother-of-pearl and decorated with bands of kiku-heads -- 13.in (33cm) long, 19th Century.
