Lot Essay

Auguste Delierre was a pupil of the decorative artist Pierre Luc Charles Ciceri (1782-1868). Delierre exhibited at the Salon between 1852 and 1882. There is a painting by him at the Musee de Pontoise. A gouache dessus de porte, Chiens de Chasse, by him, sold in 1943.
