SENDAK, Maurice. Complete set of four color prints from the original drawings for his classic and influential children's book, Where the Wild Things Are. 1971. Each measures 235 x 515 mm.
Each of these double-page prints present the full unfolded images on a single sheets of paper, differing from the published book edition with images folded and printed on different sheets. These were part of a series of 19 prints taken from eight different titles, each selected by Sendak for family and friends. Half of the series were printed in color, the remainder in black line or duatone. This set with EACH PRINT SIGNED BY SENDAK. As these sets were unintended for signature, complete signed sets are uncommon.
