The ruyi head exceptionally well carved in relief with a landscape scene of Shoulao and his deer beneath a gnarled pine tree growing from a rocky terrain, with a bat in flight among swirling clouds, one side of the curved handle naturalistically carved with a fruiting and flowering peach branch, above a spray of narcissus growing beside lingzhi fungus, the backside of the handle incised with bats amidst swirling lingzhi-shaped clouds, the semi-translucent stone a mottled celadon colour with small areas of amber inclusions
