Details
Chteau Lafite-Rothschild--Vintage 1989
Pauillac, 1er cru class. Chteau-bottled
The first two lots in original wooden cases
Tasting note: Initially opaque, as can be expected in a good year, , and intense, the vivid purple pressing the sides of the glass; nose taut, a bit unyielding; the sweetness of ripe grapes, full-bodied, firm flesh, like the sort of young girl's bottom that elderly Frenchmen have a predilection for pinching. Good texture, length, tannin and acidity. M.B.
