AN EDWARDIAN SILVER PRESENTATION CUP AND COVER, maker's mark of the Goldsmiths & Silversmith Co. Ld., inverted pear shaped with waisted, concave fluted neck, on raised molded circular base, with compressed floral knop above, the base, shoulder and rim with acanthus band on matted ground, two sides with shaped oval cartouche, one engraved with later trophy inscription, the other with collegiate insignia, the remainder chased with bold acanthus and flowering plants and undulating foliate scrolls and flowers, on finely matted ground, with two elaborate partly reeded and foliate wrapped scroll handles, with paterae side terminals, the bayonet fitted molded domed, part decorated, cover topped by fluting--22¼in. (57.1cm.) high, 109.5oz.
