A GEORGE IV PARCEL GILT SILVER FREEDOM BOX, A VICTORIAN SCOTTISH SILVER SNUFF BOX AND A SNUFF BOX, the first, maker's mark of Charles Rawlings, London, 1828, all gilt except for inscribed, hinged cover, rectangular, with engine turned sides and base, with applied berried laurel moldings the cover inscribed TO JAMES LEWIS KNIGHT ESQUIRE for his eminent Servics as Recorder This testimonial of esteem was presented together with the FREEDOM OF THE BOROUGH by The Corporation of Brecon 1828--underside of base plain rim signed Bevan Fecit--4in. (10.1cm.) long, the Scottish example rectangular, decorated with tartan design, the hinged cover engraved with presentation inscription dated 1856--maker's mark of James Nasmyth, Edinburgh, 1853--3½in. (8.8cm.) long, the last engine turned, of shaped rectangular outline, with presentation inscription dated 1853--maker's mark of Edward Smith, Birmingham, 1848--3¼in. (8.2cm.) long, the first 9oz., total weight 17oz. (3)
