A GERMAN FOUR PIECE SILVER TEA AND COFFEE SERVICE, late 19th century, stamped G HERMELING, in the Empire style, comprising: teapot, coffee pot, two handled covered sugar basin and cream jug, each round shouldered vase form on lotus leaf flat chased, circular base, the shoulder applied with die rolled band composed of griffins, anthemion and foliage, with dentilated collar, the pots with partly fluted serpent headed scroll spout, partly reeded and foliate scroll handle, the side hinged flat cover with foliate border and topped by griffin finial--the coffee pot 10in. (30.4cm.) high, gross weight 65oz. (4)
