A George III mahogany longcase clock, last quarter 18th century
The hood with later finials to the pagoda top, Greek key cornices and later fluted columns, the breakarch trunk door flanked by chamfered angles, on plinth with raised panel (distressed feet and skirting), the 12in. brass dial with engraved arch to painted rolling moon, relief cast spandrels with figures emblematic of the seasons to the chapter ring, matted centre with recessed seconds ring and calendar arch, signed on a plaque John Price Chichester, the five pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement; later seatboard, possibly associated, case with various damages -- 98in. (250cm.) high
