FOURTEEN ROMAN AMBER COLOURED GLASS INTAGLIOS
CIRCA 1ST CENTURY B.C.
Comprising: pale amber, Thetis waiting at the forge of Vulcan for the shield of Achilles; oracular subject with two figures and a head on the ground; ram with owl on a column; basket with two birds pecking at grapes; banded, Apollo with lyre; Bacchic figure (satyr) leaning against pillar holding bunch of grapes; banded, warrior; comic actor (mounted as pin); Eros standing on a club with a palm to either side; charioteer driving a biga; kneeling warrior; banded, Diomedes holding the Palladion; female seated on ground between branches, bird above; combination Grilloi, all mounted in plain metal rings
