AN IMPASTO JUG WTIH BIRD DECORATION

The footed globular body with tapering neck and slender trefoil-lipped spout, with strap handle flanged at the top, the neck decorated with incised encircling lines above and below with triple incised triangles between, the body with three stylized herons in profile to the right, the handle with ladder pattern and four crosses, minor repair; a Villanovan impasto amphora with twin vertical ribbed handles, the shallowly ribbed footed body with two central knobs each bordered by shallow semicircles, flanked by hatched double lines, with two hatched triangles above with three impressed pendant dots, dotted line around base of the neck and hatched borders around the handles, slight restoration to foot, late 8th Century B.C., both 9.1/8 in. (23.2 cm.) high; and a stemmed jar on flaring foot, with everted rim, 7th Century B.C., 6½ in. (16.5 cm.) high (3)
