Arabic manuscript on paper, covered with lines of minute black naskh, overwritten with larger brown script, portions of text within brown rules or in brown ruled semi-circles and circles, small illuminated rectangle at start, backed on white cloth, probably Ottoman, circa 17th century - 5.1cm. wide, in silver-metal cylindrical case with onion-dome cover surmounted by a crescent, with later-added screw-on spreading foot and wooden base, (the silver base hallmarked Birmingham 1907) - 14cm high
