Pattern Crown, 1817, by William Wyon, struck in gold, laureate bust right, W.WYON below truncation, date below, GEORGIUS III D:G:BRITANNIARUM REX F:D: rev. three figures standing, "The Three Graces", personifying Ireland, England and Scotland, a harp to left, a shield with the "Union flag" in centre, thistle to right, artist's signature to left, quiver and palm branch in exergue, FOEDUS INVIOLABLE divides figures, edge plain, 52.45g. (L&S 153; Montagu 565 [this coin]; Murdoch 201 [this coin]; Nobleman -; ESC 224), with the exception of a small scratch on obverse field, and two tiny scratches below and above the D in D:G: brilliant, practically as struck, of the highest rarity, one of three specimens struck
