Pattern Crown, 1818, by Benedetto Pistrucci, laureate bust right, similar to currency but the rear of the neck chamfered sharply, PISTRUCCI below, date below, large lettering, GEORGIUS III D:G: BRITANNIARUM REX F:D: the T being more prominent than the other letters, toothed border, rev. St. George slaying dragon right, PISTRUCCI in exergue, within horizontally ruled garter, WWP displayed around buckle, HONI.SOIT.QUI.MAL.Y.PENSE, edge inscription in raised letters, reverse side up, DECUS ET TUTAMEN. ANNO REGNI LVIII. rose stops (L&S 193; ESC 241 R6), obverse more darkly toned, otherwise brilliant, practically as struck and of the highest rarity
