Lot Essay

A certificate from the Wildenstein Institute dated Paris, 9 October 1998 accompanies this watercolor, which will be included in their forthcoming van Dongen catalogue raisonn.
According to the late Dolly van Dongen, this watercolor was painted circa 1916-1917 and depicts a model from the Paris couturier house 'Jenny.'
