The large, square box and hinged, domed cover mounted with rectangular and square panels of shagreen enclosed by iron borders applied with round-head nails, fitted with two iron side loop handles and with a loose ring on the front panel below the hinged lock, additional applied on the front with four metal Chinese characters, octagonal iron knop set on a double-blossom base, interior wood--15 1/4 in. (38.7 cm.) high, 10 1/2 in. (26.7 cm.) deep, two knob feet missing, some losses and old damages
