A LOUIS XVI ORMOLU-MOUNTED AND BRASS-INLAID MAHOGANY COMMODE
Stamped twice P.F. Guignard JME, circa 1780
The break-fronted rectangular white-veined Saint-Anne grey marble top with eared corners above three panelled frieze drawers with beaded surrounds, above two long drawers mounted sans traverse with similar surrounds enclosing shaped panels and rosettes and with central medallion escutcheons cast with crossed oak branches, flanked by three quarter turned fluted forecorners mounted with fruiting sprays, on turned tapering fluted legs with beaded collar and similar feet
