Cappadocia, King Ariarathes I (c. 332-322 BC), Drachm, 5.2 gms. mint of Gaziura, Baal of Gaziura enthroned left, holding eagle and scepter, legend at right, rev. griffin attacking stag, legend in field (Mitchiner 117), together with a Drachm of an uncertain Cappadocian mint, obv. diademed head of Nymph Simope left, letters behind, rev. eagle riding dolphin left, legend below (Mitchiner 118), very fine and toned, both struck with eroded obverse dies, an interesting pair of coins with slightly modified pirated designs, the first taken from the Tarsus coinage of the Satrap Mazaios, the second from the civic coinage of Sinope (2)
