Francis Herbert Schwind, an old Reptonian from Stanstead Abbotts, Hertfordshire, served as a "Gentleman Orderly" in France, Serbia and Russia, 1914-15 in the Haden Guest Unit - the first Anglo-French Hospital which, under the French Red Cross, set up in the Hotel Majestic, Paris in September 1914. Schwind is mentioned in the story of a Red Cross Unit in Serbia.
