A RARE GEORGE II/III CHOCOLATE POT,
ROBERT CALDERWOOD, DUBLIN CIRCA 1760, of baluster form with a leaf-capped double scroll handle, a cushion domed cover with a detachable finial, (for insertion of a stirring stick), the spout with a hinged cover flap and baluster drop, the spreading circular foot, inscribed underneath with the scratchweight "29-5", the body engraved on one side with a coat of arms * four marks, maker's mark twice, (once on the base), Hibernia, and crowned Harp - 25cm high, 28.75oz.
* The arms are those of O'Neill impaling another.
