Bred and owned by the Hon. Edward Lloyd Mostyn, Queen of Trumps by Velocipede out of Princess Royal was the first to win both the Oaks and Great St. Leger (1835). She produced four foals including Earl of Richmond and The Black Prince, both by Touchstone.
Bred in 1833 by William Orde, Beeswing by Syntax out of an Ardrossan mare won a total of 51 races in 64 starts including the Doncaster Cup in 1840, 1841, and 1842 as well as the Gold Cup at Ascot in 1842. She was the dam of two classic winners, Nunnykirk winner of the 2,000 Guineas in 1841 and Newminster winner of the St. Leger in 1851.
Bred by Mr. Plummer, Alice Hawthorne by Muley Muloch out of Rebecca won 50 races including the Chester Cup in 1842, the Doncaster Cup in 1843 and 1844, and the Goodwood Cup in 1844. She was the dam of Thormanby winner of the Derby in 1860.
