Chteau Pichon-Longueville, Lalande--Vintage 1982
Pauillac, 2me cru class. Chteau bottled
Tasting note: Certainly one of the "sexiest" wines of this very hot vintage. Dense, super-ripe "ribena" fruit on the nose, still holding an overlay of sweet vanilla. Very succulent and juicy. Layers of red berry fruits. Plump, with a thick texture charged with glycerol and alcohol. Great warmth. Tannins now soft and rounded. Lovely sweet finish. Delicious now but my feeling is it will not go on improving much and should be enjoyed soon while still at its best. (T. Hudson)
