Tuscany. Estate-bottled: Marchese Incisa della Rochetta
Tasting note 30/3/99: Amazing depth of colour - very deep and opaque, few signs of age at the rim. Massive and masculine on the nose; ; inky and almost Rhne-like; plenty of leather and spice; very intense with masses of sweet, ripe, Cabernet fruit oozing from the glass. Equally immense on the palate. Charged with flavour and glycerol, chewy and extracted, warm in alcohol; layers of multi-dimensional fruit, plenty of spice; a certain rusticity again reminiscent of the Rhne. Huge in every way. Very good length with sweet blackcurrent finish. Still a youngster. (T.Hudson)
