collage of lithographic elements in colors, 1961, on wove paper, dated '23.4.61' in ink and extensively inscribed 'planche en 6 passages (possibilité 5) 1ère couleur jaune fort (partie principale), 2e couleur jaune faible (eléments collés), 3e couleur bleu, 4é couleur rouge (éléments collés), 5e couleur rouge planche principale, pourraient faire l'objet d'un seul passage, 6e couleur noir' in ink, 'la planche principale est 1888, la planche rouge est 1899' in pencil, stamped '3' in blue ink at the bottom margin edge, occasional minor surface soiling, pinholes in places at the sheet edges, pale staining at the top margin corners, otherwise generally in good condition

Along with the other printing instructions, this maquette is inscribed 'la planche principale est 1888, la planche rouge 1899' indicating the plates from Les Phenomènes, carefully indexed by Dubuffet, which were used in the production of this maquette and which were cut down and remounted on other plates for the printing of the edition of Nez carotte.
