Lot Essay

Mrren is considered one of the birth places of skiing, and in particular of the ski package holiday. It was an established summer holiday destination when Henry Lunn, a British Methodist Minister, persuaded the Swiss to continue to run their services during the winter months. In 1910 Lunn founded the Public Schools Alpine Sports Club, and successfully persuaded the British to join his tours. The resort has been a popular ski destination ever since.
