A Japanese ivory okimono
modelled as two young children seated above two adjoined whicker baskets filled with a variety of fish and shells, the elder child holding a conch shell from which a claw is emerging, on a naturalistic base with a starfish and further shells -- 8¼in. (21cm.) high, signed, 19th Century, carved hardwood stand, (age cracks and old wear).
