Possibly the Earls of Cassillis, Culzean Castle, Ayrshire, created Marquesses of Ailsa in 1831.

Lot Essay

A wash-stand also with a brass plaque inscribed 'Cassillis', was sold anonymously, in these Rooms, 11 November 1999, lot 25.
