Each with fluted frame and oval padded back and seat covered in close- nailed foliate material, with scrolled armrests and downswept supports, above a fluted seat-rail, on turned tapering fluted legs, losses to the gilding, one leg resupported, traces of earlier red decoration (2)

Lot Essay
The pegged construction and upright form of the back legs is unusual for English chairs of this period. Their Irish provenance would suggest that they are possibly Irish.
