The hull of the model is preformed and painted with grey topsides red bottom and black waterline stripe. The deck is etched brass which also has been painted grey. The deck structures including the bridge, main superstructure and fire control platform are built up and well detailed with port holes, ladders, walkways and other details. Other details on the model include: anchors, capstans, bollards, valves, lockers, deck rails, aerials, searchlights, ammunition bins, 3 Chance Vought Kingfisher aircraft, aircraft davits, ships boats on davits and numerous other details. The model is mounted on a mahogany board on keel blocks with a plexi glass cover.
