A painted two door cupboard, English, late 17th century
with a moulded top and continuous sides with metal carrying handles, the front with an overall chequer pattern, the frieze twin panelled and the pair of cupboard doors also twin panelled and with ebonised split moulding decoration throughout, on stile feet, later decorated -- 42½in. (108cm.) wide, 44in. (111cm.) high, 16in. (41cm.) deep

Similar chequer decoration appears on the side panels of a chest of drawers illustrated in David Knell, English Country Furniture, London 1992, colour plate VII and front cover. It also displays a similar red over yellow colour combination to it's drawer fronts
