A SPANISH COLONIAL SILVER ALMS DISH
LATE 17TH CENTURY, PROBABLY MEXICAN

Circular, with everted and reeded rim, the center on a hexagonal stem with flanges and applied with female busts, engraved overall with flowerheads, supporting a cast figure of the Virgin bearing alms, enclosed by a strapwork circular ring mounted by a lobed cross, apparently unmarked --7 3/4in. (19.7cm.) high
