A Japanese ivory tusk section tripod box
and flat cover with seated boy finial, twin stylised mythical beast handles and shaped feet, carved in relief to the exterior with figures wearing long robes amongst bamboo and cloud scrolls -- 5in. (12.7cm) wide, 19th Century, (age crack to base, slight wear); and a similar, smaller, ivory tusk section box and cover, carved in relief with an Immortal and a boy, the reverse with a fish in a basket -- 3¾in. (9.5cm) wide, incised sealmark, 19th Century, (cover warped, finial cracked, base replaced).
