1851 (7 Dec.) entire, clearly headed "Norfolk Island", "pr First English Ship -- Paid" to England, rated "5" and "8" and showing Hobart horseshoe-framed "PAID" d.s. for 25 December, London transit c.d.s (29 April 1852) and Margate arrival c.d.s. (29/4) on reverse; central filing crease does not detract from this rare early letter. The cover is accompanied by an attractive hand-coloured map of the island (425x165mm.) attributed to Lt.
