A MASSIVE ORMOLU-MOUNTED SÈVRES STYLE TULIP-FORM VASE
Late 19th century
The trefoil-shaped vessel painted in pastel colours with panels depicting, cherubs in flight, musical instruments and amorous trophies within a pear-shaped surround reserved within gilt trellis and diaper, edged with turquoise and applied with foliate ormolu mounts, the whole suppported on a tripartite stand, cast with caraytid cherubs about a central stem, on a rococo scolling foliage and shellwork base
