Date code for 1902, iron-red printed marks, pattern 6324/1265, HC and incised shape 1265, retailed by Gilman Collamore & Co., New York, signed twice A.(lbert) Gregory
With crown and spire finial above the stepped cover, the shallow tapering bowl with upright scroll handles terminating in foliage, the side finely painted with a continuous freize of flowers on the pale-pink and chocolate ground, the stem as a baluster palm and four open cabriole legs, on a stepped gadrooned base

See Elbert Gary Sutcliffe Jr., Sotheby's, New York, 28 October 1999, lots 149 - 156 for an extensive service executed in part by this noted artist. Albert Gregory formerly of Minton, moved to Royal Crown Derby at Ormaston Road in the 1890's. He was known and celebrated for his naturalistic flower painting and in particular for his signature work the 'Gregory Rose'.
