A Venetian polychrome enamelled flared beaker
Second half of the 18th century, perhaps by a member of the Brussa family
Decorated in colours with a priest in a temple inscribed above and below Porgea Gesu il pastor sue pene amare/Onde il gran Dio Lo Della Consultare and on pink scrolls to either side Sapiens Prudens et Vigilan and Givan ..... schiere al suo splendor/è canran inni al nuouo bon Pastor and with the Eye of God and angels in flight above and a Saint, lion, donkey and eagle divided by flower-sprays below, the rim gilt and the base moulded with ribs (short crack beneath one pink scroll)
