Lot Essay

Augustus Frederick was born 27 January 1773, and was created Duke of Sussex and Earl of Inverness in 1801. He married, 1st, Lady Augusta Murray (c.1762-18030) in 1793, and married 2nd, Lady Cecelia Buggin (1793-1873) in 1831. He died 20 21st April 1843. He had children by his first wife: Augustus Frederick d'Este (1794-1848) and Augusta Emma d'Este, later Lady Truro (1801-1866)
