Lacquered in gold, red, and brown with kirigane details with a continuous scene of a blossoming plum tree and warblers with a swimming mandarin duck beneath a bridge, the blossoms of the plum tree in red or gold takamaki-e with hiramaki-e details and the planks of the bridge in togidashi, the reverse with the duck's mate seated on a rock beneath the plum tree and warblers in flight, the interior in nashiji; fitted with a coral bead ojime and an ivory netsuke of a seated courtier
