Lacquered in gold and silver takamaki-e with a scene of passengers on a ferry boat, including a man with a pack horse and a monkey trainer, the cherry trees in silver and the waves in gold hirmakie, the clouds and hills on the opposite bank of the river detailed in kirigane, the reverse with a continuation of the river, a shrine gate visible behind a rolling hill, the interior in nashiji; fitted with a lacquered bead ojime and an ivory netsuke carved as a monkey trainer, the monkey in a satchel on his back
