Rectangular, set on four bracket feet with hinged lid opening to a recessed compartment containing a removable flat tray, and fitted with two drawers below, designed on the lid with a monkey-trainer and other passengers crossing a river by ferryboat and on the sides with Itsukushima Shrine, Mount Fuji from a lake and seasonal flowers, the interior tray inlaid with gilded butterflies and foliage in the four corners and the interior of the box incised with birds and flowers and gilded
