Each with deep-buttoned red-striped cotton seat, above a convex-reeded frieze, on turned tapering reeded legs, brass caps and castors, each with attachment on seat-rails for joining the two stools, one seat-rail with remains of depository label, the castors stamped 'YATES & HAMPER'
Each 15 in. (38 cm.) high; 26¼ in. (66.5 cm.) square (2)

Lot Essay

The distinctive giltwood gadrooned seat-rail moulding, also appears in similar form on a set of drawing-room seat-furniture, attributed to George Seddon, from Mersham-le-Hatch and sold by the Knatchbull Family, in these Rooms, 4 July 1991, lot 56.
