Lot Essay

A picture that was claimed to be R78 passed in a sale at the Hotel Drout on June 23, 1958, lot 112 (Costume d'Orient, Carton parquete, 33 x 23cm.)

This painting was included in Lee Johnson's catalogue raisonne as a genuine Delacroix, however he has later rejected it in his supplement. (see vol. VI. pg. 199, L.46)
